Property Care Manager with Sunline Landscapes must possess great communication and interpersonal skills as well as exceptional organizational skills. The Property Care Manager is responsible for the client relationship, from the original sale through continued weekly maintenance, serving as “One Point of Contact” for clients.

You must also be able to multi-task and thrive within a high-pressure work environment and perform various professional, administrative, and technical work in the design, enhancement, and maintenance side of custom residential landscape. It can be extremely rewarding monetarily and offers an opportunity to grow and prosper within a successful company.

Responsibilities and Duties

The responsibilities of the Property Care Manager at Sunline Landscapes can be separated into three distinct sections. In each section, an outline of duties has been provided.

Client Experience: At Sunline Landscapes, the Property Care Managers are the sole owner of each client’s experience once received.

This is the main focus of the position:

  • Ensure each site is walked biweekly.

  • A company audit is uploaded to Aspire.

  • Provide all communication tools for clients

  • Contract renewals

  • Biweekly client update to be submitted Friday at 5 pm.

  • Monthly review of budget to actual man-hours for production to ensure estimates are accurate and up to date.

Enhancement Sales: As a Property Care Manager, you will be responsible for collaborating with clients, suppliers, & sub-contractors throughout the enhancement sales process.

  • Designs to be created with assistance as needed.

  • Meet with client to understand expectations, as needed

  • Procure samples needed for client to understand vision

  • Create compelling proposals and packets for engagement with project throughout the year.

  • Source and layout all necessary special features—tiered fountains, lighting fixtures, furniture, fencing, etc.

  • As only point of contact you will be responsible for all communication, proposals & submittals to client.

  • Work as a liaison between the client and production staff throughout the contract and enhancement project.

Estimating:

  • Provide accurate measurements for existing property lines, structures, plant materials, and all other important and necessary information for enhancement.

  • Use Aspire to create estimates for clients throughout the enhancement/contract (if change orders are needed) timeline.

  • Proficient with computer software programs including MS Office (Word, Excel), In cooperation with the shop, maintain and update power equipment list and track necessary maintenance and detailed completion dates.

Required Education and Licenses

  • Bachelor’s degree in related field is required – Landscape Maintenance/Horticulture, Landscape Construction, Landscape Architect, Horticulture, or Construction Management. Will consider other relevant degree programs.

  • Professional Fertilizer Applicator Certification a plus but not required.

  • Certified Arborist a plus but not required.

  • Valid driver’s license and ability to be insured on company policy

Required Work Experience and Skills

  • A minimum of five years’ experience in the field of horticulture, garden management, or landscape maintenance/management

  • Training and experience in horticultural best practices

  • Widely versed and current in horticultural and botanical fields (e.g., pollinators, invasive plants, native plants, plant disease, Integrated Pest Management, etc.)

  • Proficient knowledge of Microsoft Office, Word, Excel, Outlook, and technically competent and skilled

  • Effective communication of division and corporate vision to build a supportive culture

  • Excellent leadership skills capable of inspiring top tier performance

  • Self-motivated, well organized, and professional

  • Excellent skills in team management, verbal and written communication, and time management

  • Collaboration experience but comfortable working alone or without supervision.

  • Ability to work with hand tools, power tools, small engine equipment, and heavy equipment.

  • Understanding of business financial concepts, such as Gross Sales, Margins, and Markups, Expenses Control, and Profit and Loss.

  • Expert in Quality control and Inventory control

  • Experience in Hiring, Training, Disciplining, Scheduling, and Dispute Resolution

  • Demonstrated Problem Solving/Analysis skills

  • Excellent Customer Service and Client Focus with an ability to develop long-term relationships in the community and industry with a service mentality

  • Ability to maintain composure and keep a positive, friendly attitude

  • Ability to lift a minimum of 50 lbs.

  • Ability to work flexible working hours, including Saturday work if necessary, and 24-hour on-call availability during seasonal snow or ice events

Required Language:

  • English--fluency in reading, writing, and speaking

  • Bilingual is preferred in Spanish/English

Preferred Work Experience and Skills

  • 5 years of prior Professional Level Landscape and Lawn business experience; residential and commercial

maintenance industry

  • Knowledge of specific materials, methods, tools, and equipment required to complete various lawn maintenance tasks.
